War and Peace: August 2025: Dear Readers and Poets, after a period of seismic transformations on the global, national and personal scales, we are proud to present Issue 25:1 War and Peace. The dual theme is timely, as violence destroys the bonds of civilization across the globe. Elusive peace still holds the key to heal wounds and bring people together across all artificial boundaries. Poetry is the balm, the shared song, the expression of human dignity and of love. From the Beltway and beyond here are some fine poets writing on war and peace. With this issue, Beltway Poetry Quarterly becomes Beltway Poetry, a biannual publication.
